Welcome to St Paul's Methodist Centre in Aberystwyth. The Centre is home to both the English and Welsh speaking Methodist churches in Aberystwyth. Opened in 1992, St Paul's is the newest church building in town and close to the town centre.
We are a lively, warm and diverse group of people who come together to learn and grow as Christians. We have many activities including House Groups, Bible Studies, Prayer and Singing groups, weekends away, retreats and courses.
Each Sunday we are proud to offer both English and Welsh language services and traditional and modern styles of worship.
St Paul's is a community church "on the street" with a coffee bar open on weekdays and many regular users of the convenient and comfortable premises.
We work with other churches on joint services and other initiatives and welcome all. University students and holiday visitors find a home from home here, however long or short their stay. You are welcome too!
St Pauls is located on the site of the Queen's Road Methodist church, which was home to the English speaking Methodist congregation prior to 1990. In the late 1980's, as a result of the crumbling structure of the Queen's Road building, it was decided to demolish the church building and to construct a new one on the same site. The Welsh and English speaking Methodist congregations in town decided to join together to create a centre that would provide a new home for both congregations.
The old church building for the Welsh speaking Methodists is at the top of the town, near to the clock tower. The building has since become a public house, called The Academy.
St Paul Methodist Centre was officially opened on Saturday 29th February 1992.
